James (“Jim”) Rosner,
one of four members to establish the firm of Chason, Rosner, Leary & Marshall LLC, began practicing law in 1976 in his home state of Indiana. After relocating his family to Maryland, Jim joined the law firm of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP, where he concentrated on the representation of hospitals and healthcare providers throughout the state in medical negligence cases. He has also developed an expertise in the representation of product manufacturers including manufacturers of drugs and medical devices. Today, Jim continues to focus his practice on medical malpractice, along with a broad range of other litigation matters including personal injury and business disputes.

Jim has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America ® in the specialties of Commercial Litigation, Medical Malpractice Law and Professional Malpractice Law.

Well-known in the community for his extensive work on behalf of Marylanders with disabilities, as well as those unable to afford legal assistance, Jim has been recognized with numerous awards including the Leadership in Law Award and the Defense Research Institute Community Service Award.

Jim has served on many boards over the years including his current position as Chair of The Arc of Maryland Legal Advocacy Committee and has been a frequent lecturer for such diverse groups as Johns Hopkins Hospital, University of Maryland School of Law and Employers Reinsurance Corporation on topics ranging from medical risk management to finding time for pro bono work.
